This page was suggested by my friend, Ephrem, who has a particular interest on understanding my view of the world. Why he has an interest in mine, I have no
idea, but some people may find it unique, so I'm making this page. Seeing as how nothing is perfect in its first draft form, this page will be updated periodically as
more is uncovered about the universe. Lol, jk, I just can't necessarily explain everything about my philosophy in one sitting. I want to convey that this page was
created to express my own beliefs, and I don't hold anything against those who think differently from me, nor do I want to force my belief system on anyone.
Personally, I think it's kind of depressing, which is probably why I am depressed... But I am unable to take comfort in any other view...
As "Scientology" is already taken, I have no name for my religious views. I don't claim to know any more about
the afterlife than anyone else, nor do I want to force anyone out of their own beliefs, but I like to think that mine are
focused on logic and science instead of blind faith.
I see religion as a comfort for those who can't accept the fact that we cease to exist after death, and as a way
of controlling people through guilt and hellish consequences for those who don't abide by the rules set forth in their
holy book. Albeit I abide by a certain set of principles, they are only present to keep me from getting into trouble with
those who have taken their religious beliefs and formed laws around them. And, honestly, who doesn't want to be
liked?
Through my scientific endeavors and contemplation of the idea of "infinity," I discovered that I lack the ability to
believe in a god - at least in the traditional sense. I believe that the entire universe had no definitive beginning and has
no real end date, but is one giant reaction - nuclear, physical, chemical, etc. Even our thoughts are part of this
reaction: neurons in our brain grow more connections to those around them when a certain thought is processed or
an action is performed, and ideas from other people affect our thought processes, and so on. Therefor everything,
including our own thoughts, are predetermined by this reaction, which every scientist will tell you, is subject to the
same laws as every other reaction, effect, object and event in the universe. Ultimately, I think that free will is a myth
because of these facts.
Most people will tell you that they think Marilyn Manson is weird. If someone doesn't, the same group of people
will think that that person is also weird. People being judgemental is unavoidable, so people have set up standards for
everyone to live by. We have to keep our hair neat, dress in expensive, unnecessarily difficult or uncomfortable
clothing, and walk, sit and stand straight. We have to keep from laughing at other peoples' misfortunes, act like we
like everyone we have to interact with, and appreciate the same kinds of art and decoration. All of this is to keep
people from thinking for themselves, which makes us easier to control and less likely to make judgements about other
people, which is actually impossible.
Most people will tell you that they think most people are dumb, but those who are among the "dumb" do not know
how dumb they really are. Also, those who are smart will admit that they are relatively dumb because they are smart
enough to understand that nobody can know everything, while everybody knows nothing (relatively).
Lastly, it is my belief that if a person in genuinely and habitually unhappy, they should reserve the right to take
there own life. Even if other people think that this person makes them happy, they have no right to force the person to
be miserable for the rest of their life for their own satisfaction. That is cruel and unusual punishment, which, at least in
this country, is against the law. Murder is understandably justifiable in a self-defense scenario, but is heavily looked
down on as "immoral" when done for their own satisfaction. Control over one's own life is one of the few rights we
reserve as human beings, therefor, we should be able to commit suicide without it being looked down on as "murder."
First, I must admit that I don't have much to say in the way of politics, as it's always been a weak point of mine
in school, and I try to avoid the government as much as possible.
Most politicians are liars, leaders are power-hungry, and people move up the ladder via the people they know,
not how successful they are. I may not fully understand our current government, but everyone knows it's
fundamentally flawed. Hitler rose to power through his oratory abilities in a time of unrest and recession, which is
exactly what Obama has done. Those who still support him need only ask themselves what he has actually done. And
killing Osama doesn't count, because he didn't immediately affect that in any way.
I like the idea of anarchy, but its own definition is a paradox, because it is still a form of government. Who will be
there to stop the formation of groups against the anarchy? Would they be upholding some form of "law?" I support
the idea of an oligarchy where a select few rule based on the peoples' needs, not wants, because the uneducated
public shouldn't reserve the right to demolish this country by voting for incapable leaders when they want something
as vague as "change." However, the oligarchal leaders shouldn't have unlimited power, as people should still have the
power to directly control their own lives.
I personally don't know much in the way of drug use, but I do know about cocaine, PCP, ecstacy, and marijuana.
As far as weed goes, it's harmless, and should be tried atleast once by anybody looking for an out-of-mind
experience. I don't understand why it's illegal, seeing as how alcohol impairs judgement and driving ability way more
than weed. In fact, from my experience, it made my driving better. And alcohol and cigarettes kill people - when has
weed killed anybody? If it is legalized, it would be far less harmful because it wouldn't be in the hands of drug dealers
who go outside the law to make their money.
Coke and PCP, on the other hand... They can be dangerous in the wrong person, and with high enough amounts.
I didn't like coke, but being a depressive person, PCP was a fun out-of-body experience where I was my own god.
All drugs have the same purpose, which is to alter our reality in some way or another, and people only take
them because they are unhappy with some partition of their lives. Legal ones ease pain, stop sniffles, and put our
minds to rest, while illegal ones are used for some of the same reasons, if not to just make the experience of life
more enjoyable by altering reality beyond the capabilities of our own minds. If taken in the right environment,
assuming there is nothing already wrong with the person in question that would react negatively with their equilibrium,
drugs themselves are essentially harmless. Drug dealers, however, are greedy, dangerous, and have no respect for
the law, which is what makes drugs dangerous. If not for this factor, anybody should have the right to put whatever
they want in their own body.
-Nothing is wrong with experimentation as long as it doesn't affect the world around you in such a way as to
change things for the worse
-Opinions are fine when not forced on others, and none are exactly the same
-Science will always reign over everything else
-Anarchy, while preferable in a world full of idiots, is an impossible endeavor to undertake
